Activism

Sheree is a very active lady.  She has many interests and hobbies, but the two that are most important to her and the ones that give her the most pleasure involve her family and her favorite charities.  Sheree takes enormous pride in the work she performs on behalf of these and other charitable organizations for children.  She urges everyone to donate time, materials or funds to your own favorite charities. Sheree's Favorite Charities:

Sheree and Vicki
consider each other best friends
Tribute to Vicki and others living with MS

Sheree credits her early career choices and success to the good advice of Vicki Light, at that time a theatrical agent, and ever since her friend.  Since Vicki had expressed confidence in her as a model, Sheree felt secure to confide that she really always wanted to act.  Vicki recommended Sheree go to New York, do the modeling thing, and use her money to take acting classes.  “Modeling was a great stepping stone for me,” Sheree says.  “It taught me about cameras, lighting, perseverance and the art of patience.”  Vicki then helped steer her to Hollywood.
Vicki had to close down her theatrical agency a few years ago because of the progression of her multiple sclerosis.  Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. Symptoms may be mild such as numbness in the limbs or severe -- paralysis or loss of vision.  “I would love it if Vicki were still my agent,” says Sheree.  “And I would love it if she could function in the capacity that she used to; but she’s not able to, because of the MS.”

For more information about Multiple Sclerosis visit The National Multiple Sclerosis Society website.

Sheree riding in the cutting horse
event at the N.C.H.A Futurity
 show in Fort Worth, Texas

Sheree is an avid horseback rider, you may have seen her ride on some Walker episodes.  Sheree learned to ride horses as a girl in Colorado.  She continues with her love of horses and horse riding today.  Her favorite activities involve cutting horses in charitable competition.  Cutting events usually call for the horse and rider to keep a calf from passing them by weaving and cutting in front of the calves way.

As often as possible, Sheree competes in the NCHA Futurity competitions and the National Multiple Sclerosis Rodeo where she won first place in 1995.  She credits her win to the invaluable teachings of Punk Carter, world re-known cutting horse trainer and teacher.

For more information about the NCHA visit the  National Cutting Horse Association website.

Sheree also volunteers her time to Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding.  Equest provides equine-assisted therapy and rehabilitation for children and adults with physical, mental, emotional and learning disabilities.

For more information about the Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding visit the Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship website.
